The Dell Technologies Management Challenge is a unique 4-dimensional competitive event aimed at optimising management team performance and delivering positive charitable outcomes, taking place between 11-13 June 2021.
A team, comprising of 6 plus 1 ‘Team Enabler’, participate in:
- A 2-day Adventure Race, involving canoeing, mountain biking, running, hiking, map reading, archery and mind puzzles.
- Management development, an opportunity to work together on a management challenge. This will be a case study exercise (assessed by a leading business school), complemented by a keynote speaker session.
- Senior-level networking opportunities and forums.
- Charity fundraising activities; the 2021 charity partner is CLIC Sargent.
The event theme will provide an opportunity to address a contemporary management challenge and take back the learning to benefit your organisation, forming the nature of the case study task as well as the topic of conversation for the keynote speaker.
Past keynote speakers have included Alex Danson MBE, Baroness Tani Grey-Thompson and Chrissie Wellington OBE. Past themes and insights have included mental health, collaboration, inclusion and resilience.

The event returns for 2021 with an exciting new venue, summertime date and management challenge theme. The event theme and a noteworthy keynote speaker, from the world of sport and business will be revealed soon.
Set amid sunlit woodland on the banks of the river Wye, the new event base offers an ideal launchpad to jump into nature on a wild weekend out of the office.
Racquety Farm is a two-minute walk from the centre of Hay-on-Wye, on the border of England and Wales, in the shadow of the stunning Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Famous for its book shops and the world renowned ‘Hay Festival’, this charming market town is bursting with quirkiness, culture and adventure opportunities. You will find ample accommodation options, whether you want to camp out in a secluded shepherd hut, or check into a cosy B&B or chic boutique hotel.
A new venue means all-new adventure race stages to challenge yourself on. As well as physical mountain bike, run and hike stages taking you up Hay Bluff and along Offa’s Dyke, we’ll also be challenging teams on the water alongside new archery and logic challenges to test the mind and body.
The event will be delivered in strict adherence to Welsh Government Coronavirus regulations, with appropriate cleansing, PPE and distancing measures in place.

Leading events delivery organisation Run 4 Wales, has now added the Management Challenge to its portfolio of world-class mass-participation events.
The team behind events like the Cardiff Half Marathon and Velothon Wales will apply considerable expertise and infrastructure to support the growth of the event, which has been expanded to accommodate up to 45 competing teams from leading Global and UK corporates.
Expect a number of exciting new developments including enhanced technology, adventure race live tracking and results, a stunning new location and all-new adventure race stages.
