Thames Hospice will be the charity partner of the Dell Technologies Management Challenge which is back and will be taking place in June 2026.
It means that teams taking part in the weekend of adventure racing will be raising vital funds for the charity that provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care for people aged 16 and over across East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire.
The services that the hospice provides are free of charge, but with government funding covering just 30% of their costs, they need to raise £39,000 every single day to be able to continue offering support to those who need it.
That’s why Thames Hospice is thrilled to be the chosen charity of the Management Challenge, which takes place in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) between 4-6 June.
Alongside adventure racing which involves teams taking part in activities such as canoeing, running, mountain biking and hiking, to complete the race in the fastest time, they’ll also be tasked with raising money for the charity.
It’s in their interest to raise as much as possible as time will be taken off their adventure race times in accordance with how much they’ve managed to fundraise.
Alanah King, Head of Major Gifts at Thames Hospice, said: “We’re so delighted that Dell Technologies has chosen to support Thames Hospice. Their commitment to our community will help ensure we can continue providing expert care and comfort to patients and their families during life’s most difficult times. Partnerships like this show what can be achieved when businesses and charities work together, and we are so grateful to Dell Technologies for their support.”
The charity’s expert nursing, medical and therapeutic services support the physical, social and emotional needs of patients and their loved ones- both in the Hospice and in patients’ homes- and are provided free of charge to all in the community.
Partnerships like this one with Dell Technologies are essential in helping the charity continue to deliver its services. Every donation and fundraising effort directly contributes to providing compassionate specialist care and support for patients and families when they need it most.
